Introduction

Gao Brothers

From behind the 'Great Firewall of China', the censorship project operated by the Chinese government, the Gao Brothers are trying to get their message of love and understanding across to both their fellow countrymen and to the rest of the world.

In their art, the Gao Brothers, Gao Zhen and Gao Qiang, constantly seek to appeal to the conscience of modern-day China. Their work addresses the complex history of their country in the past century and how its people are now trying to make sense of the events that occured during the Cultural Revolution.

In the spring of 2015, their sculpture 'The Gesture' is on view in the exhibition '10 years Post + García'. Also available in the gallery is the publication that we made on the work of the Gao Brothers.
